Genuine Flybox Avionics Sensor

Flybox ±50A Ammeter Current Sensor (DBMISENSC)

The Flybox DBMISENSC is a high-precision, solid-state Hall-effect current sensor engineered for Ultralight, Light Sport (LSA), and Experimental aircraft. Designed to measure bidirectional DC electrical flow across -50 A to +50 A, it replaces traditional resistive shunts with a galvanically isolated, zero-insertion-loss solution that feeds real-time battery charge/discharge and alternator current directly to Flybox glass cockpit displays.

Part Number DBMISENSC
Measuring Range ±50 A DC
Sensing Type Hall-Effect Solid State
Supply Voltage +5 V DC (Instrument)

Operational Capabilities & Electrical Bus Safety

Advanced current monitoring engineered for modern light aircraft electrical systems:

01

True Bidirectional Monitoring

Accurately monitors both positive charging currents and negative battery discharge rates across ±50 A, immediately highlighting alternator drops or excessive in-flight electrical demand.

02

Full Galvanic Isolation

Electrically isolates high-current main aircraft bus cables from sensitive instrument logic circuits, eliminating short-circuit hazards and ground-loop offsets without high-voltage risks.

03

Zero Heat & Resistance Drop

Unlike resistive brass shunts that generate thermal dissipation and drop line voltage, the non-intrusive magnetic Hall-effect core introduces virtually zero electrical resistance into the bus.

04

Linear Signal Integrity

Outputs a robust, linear analogue voltage signal directly compatible with Flybox display ammeter inputs, avoiding the low-millivolt noise distortion that plagues traditional shunt installations.

Installation Advisory: Mount the sensor firmly to a sub-panel or bulkhead near the main electrical bus using cushioned fasteners. Ensure the heavy-gauge bus wire passing through the sensor is securely supported with adel clamps to prevent mechanical strain on the sensor body. Connect the 3-wire signal lead (+5V, GND, Signal) to the dedicated ammeter input on your Flybox harness, and calibrate the zero-point offset in the instrument setup menu if prompted.
