Flybox DBMISSLS Cockpit Ambient Light Sensor (Cod. 105800)
The Flybox DBMISSLS (Cod. 105800) is an external solid-state optical brightness sensor engineered for Flybox Omnia, Eclipse NG, Vigilus, and Oblò avionics. Measuring ambient cockpit light levels continuously, it automates display dimming—ensuring maximum 1,000-nit screen clarity under bright canopy sun while automatically dimming to protect night vision in darkness. A single sensor broadcasts across the CAN1 bus to synchronise up to 16 networked Omnia instruments.
Operational Capabilities & System Integration
Intelligent optical control engineered to optimize cockpit ergonomics:
Automatic Day/Night Dimming
Continuously measures cockpit ambient light to seamlessly adjust screen backlights. Delivers peak 1,000-nit brightness under direct sunlight while reducing intensity at night to prevent eye fatigue.
One Sensor for the Panel
Connects directly to a single master Omnia instrument. The reading is automatically shared across the CAN1 bus network to control up to 16 instruments simultaneously with identical illumination curves.
Zero External Power Regulators
Runs straight from the short-circuit protected +5 V sensor excitation output built into your Flybox instrument harness (Pin 3). Requires no additional circuit breakers or voltage converters.
Adjustable Damping Curves
Supports user-configurable "Smoothness" settings (1 to 3) in the Flybox instrument menu to prevent sudden screen brightness jumping when flying through intermittent cockpit shadows or tree cover.
