Flybox Battery Backup for Eclipse (DBMIBB / Cod. 703020)
The Flybox DBMIBB (Cod. 703020) is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) controller and starting buffer engineered for the Flybox Eclipse NG and cockpit flight instruments on Ultralight, Light Sport (LSA), and Experimental aircraft. It maintains uninterrupted electrical power to connected displays during starter motor ignition cranking and delivers approximately 1 hour of emergency flight runtime if the main aircraft electrical bus fails.
Operational Capabilities & In-Flight Electrical Security
Essential bus voltage buffering and autonomous power redundancy for glass cockpits:
Zero-Drop Cranking Buffer
Buffers against deep starter motor voltage drops during engine cranking. Prevents glass cockpit reboot cycles, preserving vital AHRS attitude alignment and GPS positioning at engine start.
1 Hour Emergency Autonomy
Paired with a 12 V 2 Ah rechargeable battery, it provides approximately 1 hour of emergency runtime for one Eclipse display (or 30 minutes with two Eclipse screens) in the event of an alternator failure.
Automatic Trickle Charging
Automatically recharges the backup battery with a maintenance current whenever main aircraft bus voltage is present, ensuring emergency reserves are continuously topped up without manual intervention.
Ultra-Compact Footprint
Measuring only 70 × 25 × 8 mm, this miniature module fits effortlessly behind the instrument panel or in tight sub-assemblies, pre-wired with 20 cm aviation cables for quick hookup.
