Flybox Omnia Series Avionics

Flybox Omnia VOLT-AMP (57 mm & 80 mm)

The Flybox Omnia VOLT-AMP is a high-accuracy digital electrical system monitor engineered for Ultralight, Light Sport (LSA), and Experimental aircraft. Providing complete oversight of your aircraft's power architecture, it monitors two independent voltage buses alongside bidirectional current flow (charge/discharge) on a sunlight-readable colour graphic screen with customisable limit arcs. Available in standard 57 mm (2-1/4″) and 80 mm (3-1/8″) round panel cutouts.

Form Factors 57 mm & 80 mm Cutout
Voltage Buses Dual Bus (0–35 V DC)
Current Shunt Bidirectional (±50A / ±100A)
Supply Voltage 10 V – 30 V DC (~1.5 W)

Choosing Your Instrument Size

Select the standard round aviation cutout diameter suited to your cockpit panel arrangement:

Variant 01

Omnia57 VOLT-AMP (57 mm / 2-1/4″)

The compact choice for space-constrained panels, centre pedestals, or secondary consoles. Features a 68.5 mm × 62.0 mm outer bezel, weighing only 140 g with a low 60 mA power draw. Fits standard 57 mm cutouts (57.5 mm recommended) with up to 10 mm internal screw depth.

Variant 02

Omnia80 VOLT-AMP (80 mm / 3-1/8″)

The direct drop-in replacement for traditional 3-1/8″ round mechanical electrical gauges. Features an 84.0 mm × 84.0 mm square bezel and expanded 3.5″ display area for high-focus scanning. Fits standard 80 mm cutouts (80.5 mm recommended) using M4×6mm screws (maximum 3.5 mm internal screw thread depth).

Operational Capabilities & Electrical Protection

Comprehensive diagnostic oversight of your aircraft's electrical power generation and storage:

01

Simultaneous Volts & Amps

Presents bus voltage and live electrical current draw side-by-side using high-visibility circular colour arcs and crisp digital numbers, providing instantaneous electrical system awareness at a glance.

02

Dual-Bus Monitoring

Monitors two separate voltage sources (e.g. Main Avionics Bus and Backup/Auxiliary Battery). Essential for aircraft equipped with electronic ignition or electronic fuel injection requiring dual independent power sources.

03

Bidirectional Charge Sensing

Tracks positive charging current into the battery as well as net negative discharge draw. Alerts the pilot immediately if the alternator drops offline and the electrical load begins draining the battery reserve.

04

Aural & Visual Alarms

Equipped with an NPN open-collector alarm output (300 mA) for external master warning lights or headset audio alert tones via the optional Flybox audio adapter, warning of under-voltage, over-voltage, or excessive current.

Operating Voltage Range 10 V – 30 V DC (Protected against electrical bus transients)
Supply Current Draw 60 mA (Omnia57) • 135 mA (Omnia80) @ 12 V DC
Voltage Input Channels 2x Inputs (0 to 35 V DC range) for Main and Auxiliary / Backup bus
Current Measurement Interface 1x Bidirectional analogue channel compatible with Hall current sensors / shunts (±50A / ±100A)
Measurement Resolution 0.1 V (Voltage) • 0.1 A (Amperage)
Alarm Annunciation NPN open-collector (max 300 mA, active low) for warning lamp or intercom audio adapter
Digital Communication 2x CAN-bus ports (Molex Micro-Fit) + USB 2.0 port for firmware & datalogging
Housing & Environmental CNC-milled solid aluminium alloy • -20°C to +70°C operating temperature
Installation & Calibration Advisory: Ensure the external current transducer or shunt is installed with correct polarity in the primary battery feed line to accurately register positive charging and negative discharge current. Calibrate your min/max voltage alarm thresholds according to your battery chemistry (Lead-Acid vs. LiFePO4). On Omnia80 units, ensure the mounting screws do not exceed 3.5 mm thread depth inside the chassis to avoid damaging internal electronics.
